Yehuda Bacon was born in Czechoslovakia in 1929. A Holocaust survivor and distinguished artist, his life and work bear witness to the resilience of the human spirit. Having experienced the horrors of Auschwitz and other concentration camps, Bacon’s poignant diary serves as a firsthand account of the atrocities that he endured.

Originally from Sydney, Dr Kangisser is based in Israel and is Editor-in-Chief of Yad Vashem Studies and the Director of the Eli and Diana Zborowski Centre for the Study of the Aftermath of the Holocaust at the International Institute for Holocaust Research at Yad Vashem. She is a child survivor expert and has published several books, including the post-war diaries of Holocaust survivor Yehuda Bacon.
