Tuesday, November 26 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm AEDT

Following the success of the popular short course Jewish Her-Story: Voices, Visions, and Voyages led by Sidra Moshinsky, the Jewish Museum of Australia is excited to offer another enriching learning experience; Introducing Lishma: Text-based Luminous Learning for All—a new series that invites you to explore the beauty of Jewish texts. The course will take place over 5 Tuesday evening sessions starting Tuesday 15 October until Tuesday 12 November (from 7 to 8.30pm).

The Hebrew word ‘Lishma’ means ‘for its own sake,’ embodying the spirit of studying Jewish texts not for any specific goal, but for the experience, enjoyment, and deep connection it offers. This series of classes will take participants on a journey through the weekly parasha (Torah portion), guiding us from the conclusion of the yearly cycle into its renewal. Whether you’re a seasoned learner or completely new to Jewish studies, Lishma is open to all—no prior experience required and all are welcome to participate. Cost: $157.50 JMA members; $175 non-members.
