This special event will include an inside view of the Library’s extraordinary new building in the heart of Jerusalem, a taste of NLI’s most exquisite and rare pieces, and an opportunity to learn how you, your family and community can connect and enjoy the Library’s treasures, right here in Melbourne.

The event will include a Q&A session about the current situation in Israel.

About Oren Weinberg:
Oren Weinberg was appointed CEO of the National Library of Israel in 2010. Oren has steered the Library through its historic process of renewal. Prior to joining NLI, Oren was the Director of the Haifa University Library. He is an active member of the Directors of National Libraries Group.

About DJ Schneeweiss:
DJ is an Australian-born former Israeli diplomat who has been working since 2019 as an advisor to NLI on its partnership-building and global outreach. After making Aliya in 1987 DJ joined Israel’s Foreign Ministry in 1994, where he built a distinguished 25-year diplomatic career, serving in London, Beijing and Toronto. DJ was appointed as NLI’s Head of Planning and Strategy in August 2024.
