The 2022 communal Yom Hazikaron commemoration ceremony will be held as an in-person event at Robert Blackwood Hall, Monash Clayton, on the evening of Tuesday, 3rd May.
Join us as we come together to commemorate all those that have given their lives for the State of Israel, serving in the IDF or as victims of terror.
Four candle lightings are set to take place, honouring:
Sergeant Israel Ehrlichman, killed on 21st March1968, aged 20
Corporal Eliyahu Elkayam, killed on 11th November 1982, aged 19
1st lieutenant Roee Peles, killed on 25th July 2014, aged 21
Eliyahu David (Eli) Kay, killed on 21st November 2021, aged 25
The night will also feature musical performances from Jewish Day Schools and community choirs, Itay Franco, Adam Starr, Didi Levine, Karen Feldman and Shani Weiss with the Bialik College Choir.
Retired Yavneh College teacher and community stalwart Ricky Mainzer together with Michael Mannheim from Tzofim Israeli Scouts will serve as English and Hebrew MCs .
Erev Shirei Zikaron will take place this year at the beginning of the Tekes as of 7:00pm, performed by Shani Weiss
Doors open at 7:00pm with Erev Shirei Zikaron proceedings set to commence promptly, will followed by the commemoration at 7:30pm.
This is a COVID-19 safe event, and registration is required via the Zionism Victoria website
The event is free and not ticketed. First in best dressed.
