Description
A co-educational modern Orthodox school providing an outstanding immersive Jewish and general education from our 2yo Little Learners through to VCE.
Since its inception in 1949, Mount Scopus has had a proud tradition of supporting parents to provide their children with a strong foundation in developing their Jewish identity which they may not have been able to do without financial assistance.
Today, around a quarter of school students are enabled to attend Scopus by means of ongoing financial support from the College; developing tomorrow’s community today.
Assistance is tailored to the needs of each family and is available for entry into Prep onward. The College provides both short term and long term assistance, in the form of fee relief, whereby no repayment is required, and/or a payment plan, based on individual circumstances.
Two key programs are outlined below:
The Grow with Scopus bursaries offer significant support for Prep to Year 6, or Prep to Year 3, to help parents provide a solid foundation to their child’s Jewish identity and general learning in the early years.
The Ruben Fried Scholarship co-funded by the College and the Spotlight Foundation, provides a fully immersive secondary education from Year 7 to Year 12 based on a parent co-payment of only $5000 per year.
Further details on these and other aspects of our fee assistance program is available on our College website [by clicking here ](https://www.scopus.vic.edu.au/enrolment-1/scholarships-and-bursaries).
Applications are now open for 2022 entry. Contact [Enrolments] (admissions@scopus.vic.edu.au) for a confidential discussion of your family’s needs.
Scopus operates the inquiry-based International Baccalaureate (IB) programs from our Early Learning Centres, through primary school and the lower secondary years, transitioning through to the VCE.
The mission of Mount Scopus Memorial College is to provide each student with an education and an environment that
– promotes excellence in learning and academic achievement by means of inquiry and critical thinking and by creating a desire for lifelong learning;
– enables holistic development for all students by offering a wide range of activities, inside and outside of the classroom;
– provides Jewish learning, values and experiences, within a Modern Orthodox and Zionist framework, that enable each student to make an informed choice as to the meaning of their Jewish identity; and
– develops the notions of community and service by engendering values, knowledge and skills so that students can play their full part in their communities – as members of the College, as Jews, as Australians and as citizens of the world.
Our junior campuses housing Little Learners through to Year 3 are situated in the heart of the community. Years 4 to 12 benefit from outstanding facilities and space at the Gandel Campus in Burwood, which is serviced by tram and bus routes, as well as the College’s private bus network.
