Our Village Kitchen - Volunteering Opportunities & Food Relief Service

By engaging our network of volunteers, we make nutritious and nourishing Shabbat and weekly meals for families and individuals going through tough times and facing food insecurity, as well as people living with a disability. As part of OVK giving we also provide families in our community with pantry boxes full of essential household staples as well as boxes to celebrate Jewish Festivals. We are fortunate to be partnered with Jewish Care. Our meals are distributed to families within the Victorian Jewish Community that are supported by Jewish Care, enabling the food to reach recipients directly. Our recipients present with a broad range of circumstances that have contributed to or impacted upon their access to food. Meals are provided to cover their immediate needs while Jewish Care helps them to put more sustainable measures in to place.
