RECOVERY COACHING PROGRAM (ON-GOING)
Drug-Ed aims to empower, motivate and educate individuals, families and communities, to gain a stronger awareness of the effects of drug and alcohol use. It also serves as a platform in which youth of today can learn from my experiences from addiction through to recovery.
WHAT DOES A RECOVERY COACH DO?
- Support positive change, help people to avoid relapse, and connect with a recovery community.
- Support people on all paths to recovery.
- Help people work through and achieve life goals that were disrupted by addiction.
- Empower people to explore their feelings, provide encouragement and celebrate success.
- Guide people through the recovery coaching process by using an action based approach that revolves around improving someone’s present life.
- To gently encourage greater self-knowledge of the individual and be an empathetic listener as well as building self-confidence.
A Recovery Coach Will:
- Assist you in making plans in order to improve your life.
- Focus on the present and the future without emphasising on the past.
- Keep all conversations confidential.
Recovering coaching helps even if you have a sponsor or a counsellor by having personal experience in recovery.
