Description
Work with Jewish Organisations to oversee Crisis Management in the Jewish Community
Whilst CSG is well known for having protectors out the front of Shules and schools, its role in planning and preparing for crisis and emergency is less known. CSG Victoria’s Crisis and Emergency Management division, is responsible for coordinating efforts of the Victorian Jewish Community during times of crisis. The Crisis and Emergency Management team works with individual community organisations throughout the year, to help plan and prepare for the specific risks and challenges they may face during a crisis or emergency, and coordinates broadly on community relief and recovery activities after an incident, to ensure the return to a Jewish way of life as soon as possible.
CSG Victoria’s Crisis and Emergency Management team take an All-Hazards approach, employing the same framework as Police and Emergency Services throughout Australia. The team works in a broad range of crises including (but not limited to) natural disaster events such as the bushfires of 2019/2020, communicable disease outbreak, including the current COVID-19 pandemic, security emergencies, infrastructure, reputational crises and scandal. The team holds strong working relationships with Government, Federal and State first responder agencies, local Councils and the Australian Red Cross, to deliver immediate response, relief and recovery.
