About Souper Bistro
Souper Bistro was established as a licensed social enterprise café, with the mission of serving nutritious (and delicious!), kosher meals with an Eastern European flavour in a heimishe café setting in the heart of Caulfield. The menu is lovingly designed by head chef and pâtissier, Zlata Gluzman, using the best quality, kosher ingredients. Zlata’s menu pays homage to her homeland of Ukraine and adds something a little ‘extra’ to modernise the menu to appeal to the tastes of all generations and for the broad Australian taste buds.
Souper Bistro also specialises in carefully designed catering menus, perfect for both family occasions and corporate affairs. We pride ourselves on working with our customers to design a catering menu to suit all budgets and tastes. Souper Bistro also hosts events designed to bring the community together. Our events are always both social, spiritual and educational. We’d love to grow our catering business!
The Purpose of Souper Bistro
The dual purpose of Souper Bistro is to provide legitimate, meaningful employment to marginalised members of community such as displaced people, older people, people who do not have English, single mums and other people AND to provide all profits generated by Souper Bistro back to the Souper Kitchen charitable projects.
And while we still rely on generous donations and grants, this model makes us somewhat self-sufficient in providing much needed support to vulnerable members of our community.
About Souper Kitchen
We are highly committed to supporting vulnerable members of our community. And while our efforts are concentrated locally (cities of Glen Eira, Bayside and Stonnington), we think globally. Our ‘Soft Landing’ project brought over 40 families from war torn Ukraine and settled them safely in Melbourne. Our work requires resources (volunteers, partnerships and funds) and Souper Bistro provides all its profits to Souper Kitchen to allow the charitable projects to run.
