Dean Cohen OAM is a multifaceted individual known for his exceptional leadership, entrepreneurial spirit, and unwavering commitment to philanthropy. As a husband to Jenna and father to Benji, Dean’s family has always been at the heart of his motivation and success.
Dean’s professional journey began as Founder of Flying Fox. Flying Fox’s mission is to build connections between people with disability and the community through the power of fun. Under Dean’s visionary guidance, Flying Fox has transformed the way people embrace those with disabilities.
Dean felt a profound calling to make a difference. Drawing on his passion for giving back to society, he chose to direct his career toward philanthropy. Armed with a commerce degree, Dean made the bold decision to create positive change through starting his own charity rather than pursuing a conventional corporate path.
Recognizing the transformative power of education and academic pursuits, Dean embarked on a journey to enrich his own knowledge and expertise. He is currently a PhD candidate. As part of his commitment to education, Dean also recently taught leadership at University last semester, nurturing the next generation of aspiring leaders. Dean has taken on a new role as a Philanthropy Portfolio Manager, skillfully overseeing charitable initiatives that touch the lives of countless individuals and communities.
In pursuit of a more balanced lifestyle, Dean decided to transition to part-time roles, dividing his efforts between Flying Fox and his philanthropic responsibilities. This choice reflects his desire to maintain a strong connection with the company he co-founded while dedicating more time and energy to causes he deeply cares about.
