Art of Letters: Micrography Workshop

Explore the art of letters with educator and artist Gaby Lichtig as she guides you through creating your own work of micrography.

You will learn from Gaby’s expertise and create your own original artwork.

Gaby will speak about her creative practice in relation to the manuscripts on display at Luminous: A Thousand Years of Jewish Manuscripts exhibition at the State Library Victoria.

Micrography or microcalligraphy is a centuries-old Jewish artform. First developed in the ninth century, micrography is the practice of using Hebrew letters to create images.

Gaby Lichtig is a Melbourne-based educator and artist. Amongst her other daily activities, Gaby also creates custom Ketubahs and Judaica art.
