Understanding ‘Progressive’ Support for Radical Islam after October 7

In the aftermath of the brutal October 7 terrorist attack by Hamas on Israel, the region has been engulfed in intense conflict.

This wave of violence prompted challenging responses from ‘progressive’ groups and individuals.

This session will explore how these responses might be explained by the rejection of liberal values, antisemitism, the notion that Israel is a ‘colonial’ and ‘apartheid’ state, and the mode of thought described by George Orwell as ‘double think’.
