Description
A co-educational modern Orthodox school providing an outstanding immersive Jewish and general education from our 2yo Little Learners through to VCE.
Around a quarter of school students are enabled to attend Scopus by means of financial support from the College; developing tomorrow’s community today.
Scopus operates the inquiry-based International Baccalaureate (IB) programs from our Early Learning Centres, through primary school and the lower secondary years, transitioning through to the VCE.
The mission of Mount Scopus Memorial College is to provide each student with an education and an environment that
– promotes excellence in learning and academic achievement by means of inquiry and critical thinking and by creating a desire for lifelong learning
– enables holistic development for all students by offering a wide range of activities, inside and outside of the classroom
– provides Jewish learning, values and experiences, within a Modern Orthodox and Zionist framework, that enable each student to make an informed choice as to the meaning of their Jewish identity
– develops the notions of community and service by engendering values, knowledge and skills so that students can play their full part in their communities – as members of the College, as Jews, as Australians and as citizens of the world.
Our junior campuses housing Little Learners through to Year 3 are situated in the heart of the community. Years 4 to 12 benefit from outstanding facilities and space at the Gandel Campus in Burwood, which is serviced by public tram and bus routes, as well as the College’s private bus network.
