Description

Friends of Sassoon Yehuda provides chesed (kindness), help and support to those in need, in the Melbourne Jewish community through food distribution, and outreach programs.

Our outreach work helps all in need but is predominantly aimed at helping those in the Melbourne Jewish community who are isolated, lonely, struggling with emotional and/or financial means. All food prepared is under Rabbinical Supervision, and under authorisation of Kosher Australia, which means that our food can be distributed to and help all Jews irrespective of their observance and kashrut level.

We provide free baked goods, free nutritious meals made with love, and address social engagement through lunches in a communal space, which allows those who are socially isolated, lonely or needing outreach can have companionship.

FOSY is affiliated with the Sassoon Yehuda Sephardi Synagogue.
