Description
OUR MUSEUM IS CURRENTLY CLOSED FOR RENOVATIONS, BUT OUR EVENTS AND EDUCATION PROGRAMS ARE CONTINUING.
The Melbourne Holocaust Museum is dedicated to the memory of the six million Jews murdered by the Nazis and their collaborators between 1933 and 1945.
We consider the finest memorial to all victims of racist policies to be an educational program that aims to combat antisemitism, racism and prejudice in the community and fosters understanding between peoples.
We are a passionate group of people committed to using education to overcome ignorance, whether that is ignorance about the history of the Holocaust or ignorance about the destructive impact of intolerance, racism and antisemitism in society.
Our principal activity is the education of school groups, however, our museum is open to all. We also educate tertiary students, teachers and many other groups. Additionally, we are custodians of a significant collection of Holocaust artefacts, video testimonies, documents, photos and artworks and operate a specialist Holocaust resource centre open to the public.
