On Friday 11 November, a line was crossed.
An antisemitic mob came to the heart of Victoria’s Jewish community to deliberately incite violence. They threw rocks, bottles and punches at Jews outside of a synagogue.
We are a great multicultural state, where everyone should feel safe, respected and celebrated for who they are. In the wake of the incident, we need leadership and action to make sure that happens.
That’s why the Victorian Liberals and Nationals want to reintroduce move-on laws that would give Victoria Police the powers they need to break up hateful protests, before they descend into violence and mayhem.
Sadly, the Andrews Government abolished these laws in 2015, leaving Victoria Police powerless to act until it is too late.
I invite you to sign the petition. Although the Allan Government voted these important laws down, we need to keep advocating for these laws to be re-introduced.
