However, complacency led to a harrowing period of chronic hives and deep depression, where she struggled to care for her young boys.
Seeking a new psychiatrist marked a turning point, landing her in a psychiatric hospital for five challenging weeks. Though not marked by any specific tragedy, the experience was profoundly difficult. Vikki’s physical and emotional state hit rock bottom, leading to significant weight loss and a heartbreaking absence from her son’s birthday.
Recovery was slow, taking nearly a year to regain a sense of normalcy. Vikki made a promise to herself: never let things reach such a dire point again. She committed to regular self-care, including wellness retreats, offering precious time away from life’s demands.
