Yonit Levi of Channel 12 Israel and Jonathan Freedland of The Guardian are two Jews on the news. Each week on the podcast, Levi in Tel Aviv and Freedland in London give their take on developments in politics and life in Israel, the US, the UK and around the world. Since they’re Jews, you can expect to hear far more than two opinions at any given time.
This is a podcast about Palestinians and Israelis refusing to accept the status quo and working to change it. Hosted by Sally Abed and Dina Kraft.
Ancient land, modern tales, Welcome to Israel Story – the award-winning podcast that tells extraordinary tales about ordinary Israelis. Often called “the Israeli ‘This American Life,’” we bring you quirky, unpredictable, interesting and moving stories about a place we all think we know a lot about, but really don’t.
The Promised Podcast
Featuring Noah Efron, Sally Abed, Don Futterman and Allison Kaplan Sommer, this podcast explores an insider’s view about how Israel can warm your heart and make your blood boil. It’s a show by a journalist, a social activist and an NGO guy who live in and love Israel even though it drives them crazy, and who each week discuss the latest in Israeli politics, culture and society.
Echad Beyom אחד ביום
Israel’s most listened-to podcast, each 30-minute episode explores one topic dominating the news in Israel each day, taking you behind the scenes to explain everything you need to know to follow the news. The Hebrew podcast is produced by the N12 news channel and features some of the most well-known journalists in Israel.
“Where the Line is Drawn” is about an encounter Raja Shehadeh had in 1977 when accompanied his father to a hotel in Tel Aviv, where they watched Egyptian President Anwar Sadat’s televised speech to the Knesset offering peace with Israel. At the hotel, he met a young Jewish Canadian immigrant to Israel named Henry Abramovitch; the long friendship between the two is at the heart of book. While offering an unforgettably poignant exploration of Palestinian-Israeli relationships, ‘Where the Line Is Drawn’ also provides an anatomy of friendship and an exploration of whether, in the bleakest of circumstances, it is possible for bonds to transcend political divisions.
“Letters to My Palestinian Neighbor,” is a series of 10 letters about Israel, Zionism and Jewish identity, written to any Palestinian living in the village across from the home of Yossi Klein Halevi in the French Hill neighbourhood at the edge of Jerusalem, separated by the security wall dividing our two hills.
Yossi’s letters were attempts to tell something of the Jewish story to his neighbours. He often wrote during sleepless nights, looking out at the lights of Palestinian homes, listening to the muezzin mark the stages of his insomnia.
