Description
Mikvah is one of the most important establishments in our Jewish tradition and is a specific mitzvah given to Jewish married women. This mitzvah is so important that a Mikvah must be built in a community even before a Shul and if the community is financially unable to build a Mikvah they can sell their Torah Scroll in order to build one. A Mikvah, which is used after a woman’s menstrual cycle, is a pool of natural water which empowers the woman to sanctify herself, her marriage and her family. At the time of immersion, a woman connects to G d at the highest level. It is an auspicious time for her to pray for all her desires and the needs of her family.
The Chabad Malvern Mikvah, located at 316 Glenferrie Rd, is a small, personal, intimate boutique Mikvah that caters to married women who have not necessarily had any previous Mikvah experience and supports those new to the Mivkah experience. Many women who are not religious use our Mikvah and choose to do this special mitzvah as it holds deep meaning and spirituality to them as a Jewish married woman.
