Description
Naomi Rubinstein has a Masters Degree in Counselling and a Bachelor of Education. She has worked with young adults for 30+ years. She specialises in relationships, particularly couples therapy based on the Gottman Method. Naomi utilises a range of techniques from evidence-based practices including, but not limited to, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive-Based Therapy, Mindfulness, and Meditation.
Individuals:
Naomi has been an educator for three decades. Having three children of her own who have graduated from high school, she is aware of the stresses and pressures endured by students and therefore holds specific interests in working with young adults, particularly in the areas of education, life transitions, relationships and social challenges.
Naomi fosters a respectful and confidential space for young people to express themselves freely and openly about their concerns and desired outcomes. This is developed, she believes, by getting “good at feeling” rather than relentlessly pursuing “feeling good” and by clients learning practical strategies and having tools to more effectively sitting with, resolve and manage their challenges, moving forward with sustainable outcomes.
Couples:
My marriage of 25 years, with whom I am very lucky to have two beautiful daughters and a beautiful son, is an enormous source of motivation and inspiration and provides a ceaseless experience of relationships ups and downs, which help me to understand and therefore support the couples I work with.
By following the Gottman method in couples counselling, I offer couples specific tools to help rebuild foundations and healthier lines of communication to enhance a more caring and loving relationship.
You are most welcome to call me with any additional questions.
